A little about us.
Kevin Jackson (Chris's father) commenced trading as Gas Adept during May
1994 with the aim of giving a superior level of service in
most aspects of domestic gas utilisation - whether it be
fitting your appliances or central heating, servicing or
attending to breakdowns.
Chris is a qualified
gas operative and passed formal gas qualifications in 2005.
Kevin had worked in the gas industry since 1974 and
started as an apprentice Gas Fitter with Southern Gas (now
part of British Gas), was 'apprentice of the year' in
Southampton, took additional training to become a Service
Engineer, Technician and then became a Technical Trainer. He
has City and Guilds, an ONC and a HNC in domestic gas
engineering.
Kevin also has business qualifications, namely
a DMS and an MBA. Gas Adept Ltd is Gas Safe Registered for gas,
electricity and energy efficiency - Gas Safe No. 116885.
Kevin decided to retire in 2021, completing some 48 years in the gas industry. Chris now oversees the running of Gas Adept Ltd.
Chris is Kevin's Son, age 37 and lives in Hedge End. Chris has over 21 years of gas work experience and many long-standing clients remember seeing Chris from when he was as young as 12 years old (accompanying Kevin whilst on school holidays!)
Chris studied 'A' Levels at Barton Peveril College and became a full time gas trainee with Kevin in 2003.
Chris became fully qualified as a gas operative during 2005 and is also Gas Safe registered. Gas Adept are open to be regularly inspected by
Gas Safe to ensure competency and compliance - your
satisfaction, comfort and safety is their priority.

You may find other installers with cheaper costs where 'you get what you pay for' attitude (and some a lot more expensive!) but you will never match Gas Adept's quality for the cost given.
The name Gas 'Adept' is used as they're 'good with gas' and its applications.

Gas Boiler Installation
Gas Adept regularly install high efficiency condensing 'A' energy rated Vaillant gas boilers. Gas Adept replace all types of gas boiler - whether it be a combination (combi) boiler or a traditional 'open vent' type gas boiler (with water tanks in the attic/airing cupboard).
Gas Adept have the expertise to reposition most boilers anywhere in the property - even in the loft space. Gas Adept are Vaillant 'Master Tech Advance' members and offer a free of cost Vaillant 10 year parts and labour guarantee on all of the boilers they install (subject to annual servicing around the anniversay date the new boiler was installed).
A price guide can be given over the telephone or via email.
A system survey is then required to give the client an exact cost. After this, a full written quotation will be constructed and sent to you.

Gas Boiler / Appliance Servicing
Gas Adept provide services to those who occupy dwellings from 1 bedroom apartments/flats to much larger 5+ bedroom domestic type properties - all domestic heating system shapes, designs and types are cared for (though not industrial / commercial systems).
Gas Adept clients receive a 'full system' service at no additional cost. The service takes around an hour.
Other engineers and companies may only offer very quick and mediocre 'boiler-only' inspection servicing.
The Gas Adept service includes checks to the attic water tanks, airing cupboard, controls and the heating is put on (where applicable) - why pay more money for less of a service? Sealed system/Combination boilers are drained and various components cleaned along with an annual expansion vessel pressure check. We service most makes and models of gas boiler - including: Vaillant, Glow Worm, Worcester, Potterton, Baxi, Ideal & some others.

Plus Gas Adept also offers a £10.00 Discount to all Regular Clients for their continued loyalty.

Gas Adept regularly supply and install new Radiators, Thermostatic Radiator Valves (TRVs), Copper and Stainless Hot Water Cylinders, Loft Tanks, Ball Valves, Internet-enabled Smart Thermostats, Taps, Showers, Shower Pumps, Heating Timers, Room Thermostats - plus much more.

Breakdown / Repairs
Gas Adept are available throughout the day and at weekends (where possible) for Southampton area heating repairs. Gas Adept have many years experience in repairing faults and breakdowns are remedied with minimal fuss and disruption. Heating systems can be updated, renewed or in some instances simply 'nursed' along to achieve their full potential - saving the client both money and our environmental impact.
Many parts are held 'in stock' and Gas Adept have fast access to parts that are not stocked - so even your 35+ year old gas boiler can be repaired quickly, conveniently and cost effectively.
Gas Adept rely on word-of-mouth recommendation and they really do look after their clients. Good care is taken with your property and possessions whilst work is being carried out.

Heating systems are a complex mating of parts and waterways
- why for instance do you keep having to bleed your
radiators? Why does the central heating water turn black
over time? Why does your boiler make noises that 'kettle'
and 'knock' in the background? These faults can be fixed by
Kevin, Chris and Bradley.
Gas Adept have always specialised solely in Gas Boiler Central Heating installation and maintenance - we do not
diversify into other avenues like Air Source Heat Pumps, Solar, Underfloor Heating, Bathrooms or
Building Maintenance.

Kevin leaves British Gas and buys his first van. Fully equipped with tools and had a very small customer base that was built from word-of-mouth, family and friends.
April 1999
Chris begins 'Work Experience'
During secondary school
Chris opted to join Kevin on his daily rounds for a short period of time to gain a background on his father's job and this founded the platform for Chris' future.
July 2002
Chris becomes Gas Adept's first Apprentice
Full time Gas college placement
Chris joins an accredited gas training centre and began a two year full-time NVQ Level 2 Gas training course.

June 2006 - April 2018

Kevin's Daughter
Having spent many years in a busy Mercedes-Benz dealership, Sarah left to join Gas Adept and underwent the tasks of day to day calls, emails and bookings. Working full time with Kevin and Chris for some 12 years, Sarah later married, started a family and left in 2018. This then enabled Kevin to naturally reduce his 'on the tools' work and concentrate on the less labour intensive admin role - whilst Chris continued providing Gas Adept's services.
Bradley
June 2017
Bradley joins Gas Adept
Gas Adept's second Apprentice
Kevin and Chris knew Bradley from a very young age having serviced his family's boilers/heating systems. Bradley undertook gas work experience during 2017 and soon after became Gas Adept's next official apprentice. Employed full time by Gas Adept, Bradley assisted day-to-day operations including servicing, attending to heating/boiler repairs and assisting boiler replacements. For almost 5 years Bradley has been nurtured the ‘Gas Adept’ way.
March 2021
Bradley Qualifies
Gas Safe Regsitered under Gas Adept Ltd.
After almost 4 years of technical college tuition along with on-the-job training by Kevin and Chris, Bradley becomes fully qualified as an opperative under Gas Adept Ltd.
June 2021
Kevin Retires
After 27 years of running Gas Adept Ltd.
Having spent a couple of years of 'lighter' duties, Kevin retires leaving Chris and Bradley to continue Gas Adept and provide a first class service to all their clients - most of who have been clients since the beginning.
